Diana Silvers From Another Room is a love letter to life

At the 1824° press conference for her debut EP, FromAnother Room, Diana Silvers spoke with confidence of an artist who’s excited to share her story with others. Known first for her work on screen with movies like MA and Birds of Paradise, Silvers is ready to carve out a new path with music that is rooted in authenticity.
Silvers described her creative process as something personal and deeply rooted in the beauty of peace and quiet. While she doesn't have synesthesia, she mentioned that when making songs, certain colors and images would be evoked in her thought process. She also mentioned that music wasn't something she inherently chased at first, but rather something that slowly sneaked its way into her heart. “Getting to sing and share a room with people and communicate with people in that way is actually so fulfilling and so good,” she stated.
Her artistic influences extended beyond just music, citing Almost Famous, directed by Cameron Crowe, and its legendary soundtrack as key inspiration to her craft. You can see how the film and other ‘70s artists' influences are explored through From Another Room, from the gentle guitar riffs to the almost airy-like vocals throughout.
I got the chance to ask Silvers how opening up on tour with Jon Batiste has changed her approach to making/ creating music. “You learn so much performing live,” she stated. She elaborated that live shows have shown her a completely new way to create music, and she wants them implemented into her upcoming pieces as well. Silvers also spoke warmly about her admiration for the singer Paul Springs, calling him a major influence on her own musical journey.
From Another Room is just the beginning for Silvers teasing that she is already working on other songs with the hope of a tour soon. She hopes to continue the exploration of girlhood into womanhood through her upcoming material as well. With this release, Diana Silvers proves she’s not just experimenting with sound but she's claiming her space within it, and I for one, cannot wait to hear what she has next in store.
