I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME, and I’m thrilled they did. Anyone who has dipped their toes into the world of alternative and pop rock music has most likely heard of this powerhouse band. Formed in 2016 by frontman Dallon Weekes and, now departed, drummer Ryan Seaman, they gained traction with their 80s synthpop sound and impressive lyricism. iDKHOW has been a standout band for me since I discovered them with the release of their first EP, 1981 Extended Play, and since then, their influence on the indie rock scene has only grown with their albums Razzmatazz and, most recently, Gloom Division. After touring for the better part of 2024 and 2025 following the release of this latest album, I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME is finally concluding their packed 2025 tour cycle this November.

On Saturday night, iDKHOW took the stage at Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and their magnetic stage presence was immediate. They were able to make this small venue seem massive with their energy, charisma, and theatricality. As their contagious new wave and funk beats filled this small venue, it was clear they were ready to put on a show.

Throughout the set, it seemed like Weekes was interested in making a genuine connection with the fans, standing at the very edge of the stage to serenade the audience, practically leaning over the first two rows of the crowd, and even making his way into the pit. The mutual love and respect between iDKHOW and the fans was something that truly impressed me.

The setlist comprised a good mix from their albums and EPs, including my personal favorites “Do It All the Time,” “Gloomtown Brats,” and ending with title track “Razzmatazz.” For the hard-core fans, they had deep cuts like “Social Climb” from their first EP,  “Visitation of the Ghost”, a song from Weekes's previous band, The Brobecks, and an unreleased song that I cannot wait for!

Although they don’t have any headlining shows this upcoming year (so far), you can catch them on the road with Boys Like Girls on their 2026 U.S. tour!
