What’s the perfect night out in Athens? If you thought, beautiful fall weather, singing with your friends, and seeing some amazing music, then you won! Chicago-based band Ax and The Hatchetmen performed at the legendary 40 Watt Club. The night consisted of amazing music, a surprise guest, and tons of smiling faces.
California-based band Foxtide, got the night started. Their indie-rock sound was catchy, and the crowd was swaying along. They played their own music, but then surprised the crowd with a cover of “Unwritten” and “Since U Been Gone.” Everyone’s energy on stage was electric!
It was then time for Ax and the Hatchtmen. From the second they stepped on stage, the energy was at an all time high. The 6 piece band had guitars, drums, a trumpet, and saxophone. They played their new album “So Much To Tell You,” and fans knew every word. Their passion for music and connection did not go unnoticed. They let a fan go on stage and play with them for “Where The F Did I Park My Car?” The band also brought out Zendé, one member of Axel’s other band, The Runarounds. It was a show unlike any other.
