Leith Ross at °1824’s Press Conference
Singer/songwriter Leith Ross’s upcoming album, I Can See the Future, stands as a reflection of growth, resilience, and humanity. Set to release on September 19th, the project is an intimate record that encourages listeners to reflect, connect, and move forward with hope. Ross shares these insights and more during a lively press conference hosted by °1824.
The album’s title track, described by Ross as the "beating heart" of the record, explores themes of self-understanding and the duality of looking back at the past while building a purposeful future. The song "Grieving," the oldest on the album, inspired many of the record’s central themes, stemming from the artist’s experience with loss and the transformative power of grief.
With their upcoming tour, Ross aims to build connection and community not only with their music, but the live experience as well. They expressed a desire to create an atmosphere that goes beyond a typical concert experience.
“I hope that it is therapeutic and that it feels like a moment of togetherness in a world that is definitely sort of making us feel like we don’t have that anymore,” they said.
Ross highlighted songs like “Stay” and “Point of View” as especially meaningful, emphasizing their commitment to vulnerability and honesty in songwriting. They also spoke to the impact of their music within the LGBTQ community, noting how queerness shapes both their personal identity and their perspective on the world.
“My only dream when I was young and writing music was to give somebody else the experience that I had when I was young and listening to music,” they said.
Listeners are encouraged to experience the album in order, as its tracklist is carefully crafted to take fans on an emotional journey. Ross hopes that, above all, the album leaves listeners feeling hopeful and able to process difficult emotions while believing in a better tomorrow.
