The Worst Girl In America Is Actually Kind Of Famous: Slayyyter at House of Blues Dallas

The summer of 2026 will forever go down in history as ‘Slayyyter Summer’. After releasing her third studio album Wor$t Girl In America in March of this year, Slayyyter propelled into mainstream success, performing to massive crowds at Lollapalooza and Coachella mere months after its release. It didn’t take very long after the announcement of her tour Wor$t Girl In The World for every date to sell out. Wor$t Girl In America is by far my favorite and most listened to album release of the year, so being in the packed room at House of Blues Dallas on Saturday night was a huge dream I’ll never stop talking about.
Pearly Drops started the night off, filling the crowded room with dreamy electro-pop that radiated off the walls. Consisting of producers Sandra Tervonen and Juuso Malin, the Helsinki-based duo sent waves of heavy synth and eerie vocals to get the crowd prepared for a spectacular night. Tervonen addressed the crowd to mention it was their first time in Texas, making the proper introduction by going to Buc-ee’s where they actually got a picture with Buc-ee himself (welcome to Texas, y’all!).
As the time for Slayyyter’s entrance approached, the crowd began chanting “Slayyyter! Slayyyter! Slayyyter!” To a sea of bunny ears and themed costumes, Slayyyter came out on stage to “Dance…” and the crowd didn’t hesitate to erupt with movement. Slayyyter played Wor$t Girl In America in its entirety, even including new songs “Crank 2” and “Broke Bitch Free$tyle" and her unreleased song “I Think He’s Got A Girl”. From the whole room yelling “CRANK IT!” during “Crank” to everyone going ballistic during “YES GODDD, Slayyyter put on one of the most energetic shows I’ve been to.
Now, we must talk about the production of the show. Starting with the incredibly crafted set design, Slayyyter brought a whole tiny house on stage. Paired with a street lamp, clothing line, plants, and even a carousel horse, the audience was transported to a Midwest backyard rager. She’s known for her glamorous attire on stage and she made no exception on this tour by having three outfit changes. My personal favorite was her last outfit which was a bralette top and shorts made from award ribbons! She expressed love to the crowd for all their outfits, even directly pointing out a girl at the barricade for having a costume identical to her outfit from her “Cannabalism!” music video.
Never in my years of attending concerts have I been so sweaty from a show but still so full of energy, blasting Wor$t Girl In America on my commute home because I simply couldn’t get enough. I left the venue feeling like the luckiest girl in the world knowing I got to see the biggest artist currently blowing up in such a small and intimate environment. Slayyyter is not a new artist by any means as she’s been making music for a decade now, but it’s so amazing seeing her get her flowers.
