What better way to spend the day of love than at a sold-out The Runarounds show? I can’t think of one. The band brought their Minivan Tour to The Midwest this Valentine’s Day and did not disappoint.
Formed in 2020, the indie-rock group captured hearts nationwide following the release of their Prime Video Original Series, The Runarounds. From the creators of Outer Banks, the series offers a fictionalized look at the very real band, starring members Will Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Jesse Golliher, and Zendé Murdock as they navigate friendship, finishing high school, and chasing their dreams of making it in music. The first leg of the Minivan Tour kicked off in September 2025 after the show’s release, and now the band is running it back in 2026 with even bigger and better shows.

Lead singer, Ralph Porter, was certainly not afraid to show off his moves, while other members, Jaden Cone, Ben Kremer, Sal Defilippis, and Hunter Olshefke, all jammed along as the energy in the room boiled in anticipation for The Runarounds. The Back Alley will be back in the Midwest in April on their spring headline tour! Information and tickets are available here.

As soon as the first beat hit, fans were jumping up and down and screaming each and every word to “Ghosts”, the band’s most popular song. It was made very clear that these boys were destined for the stage and fans at the Royal Oak Music Theatre knew it. After seeing the overwhelming response in Indianapolis on Wednesday, it was no surprise that Detroit showed up in full force just three days later. Several fans in the front row shared that they had traveled to multiple dates on the Minivan Tour, including the Indianapolis stop, proving just how dedicated and fast-growing The Runarounds’ fanbase has become. The band worked their way through all the songs featured in the series, including the famous cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Valerie”. They continued the set with “Hypocrites”, “Chasing The Good Times”, and dedicated “It’s a Wash” to Marty Supreme after shouting out their family members in the crowd and encouraged fans to grab their loved ones and sing along. The setlist also featured a personal favorite song from The Runarounds, “Shoelaces”. Itching for more, the whole room chanted “one more song” before the band closed out the encore with “Downtown”. It was a Valentine’s Day to remember.

Season two of their series has not been announced yet but, it’s very clear that people want more. The Runarounds have many more tour dates to come in cities across the U.S. so absolutely don’t miss out!
