Delaney Bailey’s Closing Show at The Beat Kitchen

The Beat Kitchen, Chicago, IL | December 5th, 2025

Chicago-based singer Delaney Bailey concludes her second headlining tour in the back room venue of Chicago bar, Beat Kitchen. Basking in the warm glow of the stage lights, Bailey delivers a standout performance in the intimate venue, filled with adoring fans, supportive friends and family, and curious bar-goers.

The night started with local band, This House is Creaking, as openers. Their lively set and frequent crowd engagement sparked the atmosphere and set the tone for the rest of the night. One of the members, Ehmed Nauman, would return to the stage as part of Bailey’s supporting band.

Barefoot but still able to charm an audience, Bailey teases the upcoming release of her new album “Concave.” Opening with two of four released songs, “Nightshade” and “Faraway,” before also performing the unreleased titular track, “Concave.”

Dividing her set into two parts, the first features different sonic elements she’s experimenting with in her music. It sounds transcendental, up-beat, and you can tell how much fun her and the rest of her band have while performing. The second part of the set has Bailey sitting down for more stripped down, vocal-focused songs. The crowd adjusts to the tone of the sets, singing along as they sway with one another in an almost hypnotic way. Crowd-favorites were “We Were Girls Together,” “Finish Line,” and her cover of Bon Iver’s “For Emma.”

Just before the final song of the night, as the band — composed of Will Izdepski on bass, Taylor O’Neal on drums and keys, Ehmed Nauman on guitar— exits the stage for Bailey to perform solo, the show stops. A dog in the front row is pointed out and momentarily steals the limelight for some loving pats and attention. After the dog is satisfied with the doting, Bailey wraps up the show alone on stage, singing her most-known single “j’s lullaby (darlin’ i'd wait for you).”

With heartfelt thank yous to the crowd and her team, a somber feeling lingers around the room as realization hits that it’s already the end of the show and her 2025 tour. Fans of Delaney Bailey can look forward to her next album, “Concave,” coming out January 21, 2026.
