Conan Gray hit the stage Saturday night with the most incredible performance at the Fishers Event Center, featuring his Wishbone World Tour. Before he took the stage, rising star Esha Tewari set the tone with a set that felt remarkably intimate. Her sound was soulful and was the perfect start to get the crowd going.
When the house lights dimmed, Conan Gray entered the stage on a bike, adding to the overall theme of his tour. The atmosphere at Fishers Event Center was electric. Conan emerged amidst a set design that leaned heavily into the ethereal, “storybook” aesthetic of his latest album, Wishbone. The show went through multiple set changes, the next more incredible than the last. The entire show, I felt immersed in this alternate, dream-like reality that he created for the fans.
Conan’s stage presence is irreplaceable. He utilized every inch of the stage, and even when on the floor, to sing with his fans. As tradition, he broke the wishbone with a fan dressed as his favorite food, carrot cake! The fan chose the song “Alley Rose,” and the crowd erupted with excitement. Conan also played favorite songs from previous albums, including “Never Ending Story”, “People Watching”, “Family Line”, and a top fan favorite, “Heather”.
The Wishbone World Tour is a triumph of production and emotional resonance with his fans. Conan Gray is an incredibly talented vocalist and storyteller who knows exactly how to make a room full of thousands feel like a circle of close friends!
